AirCAM Privacy Policy
Updated: October 27, 2026 · AirCAM Mobile and AirCAM Desktop 1.1
AirCAM is developed by PHO IENG. AirCAM Mobile sends camera video to AirCAM Desktop on a Mac or Thort on another iPhone on the same local network. No user account is required.
Camera, microphone and local network
AirCAM Mobile uses camera permission to scan pairing codes and capture video after you start streaming. Optional microphone audio is sent to AirCAM Desktop when enabled. Thort pairing sends video only; Thort records its own selected microphone. AirCAM Desktop receives the selected phone’s stream and provides a virtual camera; it does not capture the Mac’s physical camera or microphone. The Mac App Store build does not provide a virtual microphone output.
Bonjour and local network access connect your chosen devices. Their local network addresses and connection messages are processed for pairing and streaming. We do not operate a cloud video relay, STUN or TURN server. WebRTC encrypts media between the paired devices. Desktop pairing signaling uses the local network; Thort pairing additionally encrypts its signaling with AES-GCM. Use a trusted network.
Local storage and private pairing codes
AirCAM keeps your saved receiver address and display preferences locally. Thort pairing keys are stored separately in this iPhone’s device-only Keychain. The private QR code or pairing link contains access credentials: share it only with your own intended device. Delete the saved pairing in AirCAM to remove its stored key. Remove the corresponding saved connection in Thort to revoke that key. Uninstalling an app alone may not clear Keychain entries.
The desktop app and its camera extension use bounded local buffers or temporary files to deliver the virtual camera feed. AirCAM does not automatically save or upload recordings to a developer server. Turning off the phone’s preview hides the local image but does not stop transmission; tap Stop to stop streaming. Backgrounding the mobile app stops its stream.
Sharing and other apps
Live media is sent only to the receiver you pair. Thort and other apps you choose, such as OBS or a conferencing app using the virtual camera, may record, export or transmit that media under their own settings and privacy policies. Any copies made there must be managed there.
AirCAM has no advertising SDK, analytics service, advertising tracking or sale of personal information. The developer does not receive an automatic copy of your camera feed, microphone audio or pairing information.
Your choices and support
You can stop streaming, disable optional sound, remove a pairing, and manage camera, microphone and local network permissions in device Settings. Appearance and preview settings do not change the transmitted content except when you explicitly change video rotation.
For support or privacy questions, email crumbdev.team@gmail.com. We receive only the message, email address and attachments you choose to send, and use them to answer your request. Do not include private pairing codes, passwords or unnecessary private footage. Support correspondence is retained only as needed to handle the request or applicable obligations.
This website and changes
This policy is hosted on GitHub Pages without developer-added analytics, advertising, forms or tracking cookies. GitHub processes website requests under its own privacy policy. Opening the website is separate from local camera streaming. We will update this policy if the app’s data practices change.
