Developer and contact
Thort (ថត) is an independent iPhone camera, composition and video-editing app developed by PHO IENG, an individual developer in Cambodia. These documents describe version 1.0.0. Bundle ID: space.iengpho.thort. For support or privacy questions, contact iengpho@gmail.com.
Who we are
Thort is developed by PHO IENG. This policy describes the app’s current camera, recording, editing and export features.
Processing on your iPhone
Camera frames and optional microphone audio are processed on your device. Recordings, separate camera originals, edit drafts, camera preferences and appearance choices are stored in the app’s local storage. Thort has no account system, advertising, analytics SDK, tracking or automatic upload. The app does not send your recordings or these preferences to the developer.
AirCAM Mobile pairing
AirCAM Mobile can send encrypted WebRTC video directly to Thort on the same local network. Thort listens only while an assigned AirCAM source or its connection test is running. Private pairing links contain an access key; keys stay in device-only Keychain storage and are excluded from layouts and recordings. Signaling is encrypted with AES-GCM; media uses WebRTC encryption. No cloud, STUN or TURN service is used. Remove a saved connection to revoke its key. Thort records sound from its own microphone, not the sending phone.
IP camera connections
When you test or start an IP camera, Thort connects to the stream address you choose. The camera or hosting provider receives your network address, stream request and any configured authentication. HLS playlists may load video from additional servers. Local Network access is requested for nearby devices. HTTP streams are unencrypted; use HTTPS when available. Stream addresses and credentials are stored in this device’s Keychain and excluded from exported layouts and recordings. Remove a saved connection in Camera settings to delete those stored details. Uninstalling alone may not remove Keychain entries. IP camera video is processed and recorded locally; Thort does not upload your phone camera or microphone to the stream provider.
Permissions
Camera access is requested when you enable cameras. Microphone access is requested only when Record sound is enabled. Photos access is requested only when you choose Save to Photos, using add-only access. Thort does not request location, contacts, SMS, or access to read or delete your photo library. You can change permissions in iPhone Settings.
Exporting and sharing
Saving to Photos creates a separate copy. Apple may sync that copy according to your Photos and iCloud settings. If you use Share, the app or destination you select receives the selected file and handles it under its own policies. Thort does not control those copies. Opening an external link uses your browser and the destination’s privacy policy.
Retention and deletion
Local recordings remain until you delete them or remove the app. Clips supports deleting an individual file, a take, or all local history after confirmation. Edit drafts and interrupted files belonging to a take are removed when that take is deleted. Deleting local files does not delete exported or shared copies. New recording folders are excluded from device backups; export important videos before uninstalling. Other app settings may be included in device backups according to iOS settings.
Device checks
The app reads available storage and local file information to protect recording capacity and manage your library. It checks camera capabilities and system pressure to configure supported capture. These checks do not create an advertising identifier or upload a device profile.
Your choices and policy changes
You can use layouts and browse saved clips without enabling the camera, record without sound, and keep videos in the app without granting Photos access. This policy will be updated if the app’s data practices change. Apple’s operating system and services have their own privacy settings and policies.
Connection choices
You choose the MJPEG or HLS stream address to connect to. HTTP is limited to local network addresses and names by the app, and is unencrypted. Use HTTPS for internet endpoints and whenever the camera supports it. Camera credentials authenticate to that camera or stream provider; they are not a Thort user account. The app does not include public CCTV addresses, camera passwords, or a developer-operated video relay.
Support correspondence
If you contact PHO IENG, the developer receives the email address, message and attachments you voluntarily send and uses them to handle your request. Correspondence is kept only as needed to respond, maintain relevant support records, or meet applicable obligations. You can request access, correction or deletion by emailing iengpho@gmail.com; applicable obligations may limit a request. Do not send passwords, private stream URLs, access tokens or unnecessary private footage. The developer has no automatic copy of your local recordings to retrieve or delete.
This public website
These pages are hosted by GitHub Pages. They use locally hosted fonts and contain no advertising, analytics scripts, forms, or tracking cookies added by the developer. GitHub processes website visitor information separately, including connection and usage information, under its GitHub General Privacy Statement. Opening this website is separate from local camera recording. The app also includes offline policy text; viewing the offline copy does not send your recordings to GitHub.
